About Giclée Prints
A Giclée print is a high-resolution digital print that looks and feels
like the original. An 11-color archival ink process with UV inhibitors is used,
which produces a print that resists fading and color shifting under normal
indoor conditions. Before printing, a proof of each painting is carefully
inspected by the artist to ensure the most accurate reproduction of the
original artwork. Prints are sold without frames; offering prints without
matting or frames allows greater flexibility for individual tastes and décor,
as well as more attractive pricing.
A museum quality Giclée can be produced either on 90-lb cold press Arches
watercolor paper, or on canvas. Arches paper has a heavy yet smooth surface
that permits the brilliance of the watercolors to blend, but still produces a
sharp image, allowing the highest quality replication of the original. A canvas
Giclée is produced with a satin or gloss finish that creates a barrier
surface, allowing the print to be washed with soap and water or even glass
cleaner. The canvas is stretched and stapled, with background from the painting
extending around the edges. Canvas prints are also available unstretched,
suitable for framing with or without glass.
The prints, whether on Arches paper or on canvas, provide results that are
extraordinary in color and intensity.
